Cost of Abbas Mirza’s Wedding (هزینه عروسی عباس میرزا)

Wedding Ceremony (مراسم ازدواج)، 1217 AH

The marriage ceremony of Abbas Mirza, Crown Prince (عباس میرزا نایب‌السلطنه), and Golin Khanom (گلین خانم) was held in 1217 AH with great splendor.

It was described as follows: “It was one of the greatest celebrations, and for seven days and nights the people of Iran were reminded of freedom and came to understand the meaning of liberty. All the prominent members of the Qajar family and government officials were granted permission to celebrate in whatever manner they wished.”

Reza-Qoli Khan Hedayat (رضاقلی‌خان هدایت) estimated the cost of the celebration at more than 100,000 tomans.

One year after the marriage, she accompanied Abbas Mirza to Dar al-Saltaneh Tabriz (دارالسلطنه تبریز), where she gave birth to her first child. In accordance with the will of Agha Mohammad Khan (آقامحمدخان), the child was named Mohammad (محمد).

Bahman Mirza (بهمن میرزا), Qahraman Mirza (قهرمان میرزا), and Begom Khanom (بیگم خانم) were also among the children of Mahd-e Olya II (مهدعلیای دوم).
