The Indian Ambassador’s Garden (\u0628\u0627\u063a \u0633\u0641\u06cc\u0631 \u0647\u0646\u062f) was a garden separated from the lands of the Mostowfi al-Mamalek Garden (\u0628\u0627\u063a \u0645\u0633\u062a\u0648\u0641\u06cc\u200c\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0645\u0627\u0644\u06a9) in Vanak.<\/p>\n
The Mostowfi al-Mamalek Garden, a waqf garden belonging to Mirza Yusuf Mostowfi al-Mamalek (\u0645\u06cc\u0631\u0632\u0627 \u06cc\u0648\u0633\u0641 \u0645\u0633\u062a\u0648\u0641\u06cc\u200c\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0645\u0627\u0644\u06a9), the renowned prime minister of Naser al-Din Shah, was well known in Vanak. This garden was also known as Bagh-e Laleh (\u0628\u0627\u063a \u0644\u0627\u0644\u0647) and Bagh-e Irani (\u0628\u0627\u063a \u0627\u06cc\u0631\u0627\u0646\u06cc) and contained the garden residence of Mirza Hasan Mostowfi al-Mamalek (\u0645\u06cc\u0631\u0632\u0627 \u062d\u0633\u0646 \u0645\u0633\u062a\u0648\u0641\u06cc\u200c\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0645\u0627\u0644\u06a9), the son of Mirza Yusuf.<\/p>\n
According to a registration report published in 1381 SH by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of Tehran Province, Mirza Yusuf Khan’s garden was originally very extensive, covering approximately 3.8 hectares. (Registration Report…, p. 3)<\/p>\n
Later, the extensive lands of the garden were subdivided and separated from it\u2014apparently by the heirs of Mirza Hasan Mostowfi al-Mamalek, or by others\u2014and came into the ownership of various institutions and individuals:<\/p>\n
Part of the southern grounds was converted into a public park (\u0628\u0648\u0633\u062a\u0627\u0646).<\/p>\n
Khanom Pirouzan’s Garden (\u0628\u0627\u063a \u062e\u0627\u0646\u0645 \u067e\u06cc\u0631\u0648\u0632\u0627\u0646), measuring 6,123 square meters, was located at the northeastern corner of the garden and is owned by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.<\/p>\n
Dr. Zarrabi’s Garden (\u0628\u0627\u063a \u062f\u06a9\u062a\u0631 \u0636\u0631\u0627\u0628\u06cc), measuring 6,000 square meters, was located in the eastern part of the garden and remains privately owned.<\/p>\n
Indian Ambassador’s Garden (\u0628\u0627\u063a \u0633\u0641\u06cc\u0631 \u0647\u0646\u062f), measuring 16,840 square meters, was located in the western part of the garden. It later came into the possession of Tamuchin Shahrokh (\u062a\u0645\u0648\u0686\u06cc\u0646 \u0634\u0627\u0647\u0631\u062e), a member of the family of Arbab Keykhosrow Shahrokh (\u0627\u0631\u0628\u0627\u0628 \u06a9\u06cc\u062e\u0633\u0631\u0648 \u0634\u0627\u0647\u0631\u062e) and a relative of Arbab Gashtasp Firouzgar (\u0627\u0631\u0628\u0627\u0628 \u06af\u0634\u062a\u0627\u0633\u0628 \u0641\u06cc\u0631\u0648\u0632\u06af\u0631).<\/p>\n
A garden belonging to the municipality occupied the southern frontage and has since been converted into a public park.<\/p>\n
What currently remains in the ownership of the Mostowfi family is the central section of the garden, measuring 20,500 square meters. (Registration Report…, p. 3)<\/p>\n
The main entrance to the garden is on its eastern side, on Saberi Street (\u062e\u06cc\u0627\u0628\u0627\u0646 \u0635\u0627\u0628\u0631\u06cc), while two other entrances are located on the northern and southern sides of the garden.<\/p>\n
