Many urban development measures undertaken after 1307 SH\/1928 CE were part of a comprehensive urban-planning scheme prepared for the reconstruction of Tehran (\u062a\u0647\u0631\u0627\u0646), modeled on European cities of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.<\/p>\n
Among these measures were the following:<\/p>\n
The construction of new fa\u00e7ades along the southern frontage of Topkhaneh Square (\u0645\u06cc\u062f\u0627\u0646 \u062a\u0648\u067e\u062e\u0627\u0646\u0647) and the conversion of Mashq Square (\u0645\u06cc\u062f\u0627\u0646 \u0645\u0634\u0642) into the National Garden (\u0628\u0627\u063a \u0645\u0644\u06cc) in 1307 SH, followed by its transformation into an administrative complex, beginning around 1312 SH\/1933 CE;<\/p>\n
The conversion of the old cemetery next to Amin al-Sultan Square (\u0645\u06cc\u062f\u0627\u0646 \u0627\u0645\u06cc\u0646\u200c\u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0637\u0627\u0646) into Ferdows Garden (\u0628\u0627\u063a \u0641\u0631\u062f\u0648\u0633) in 1307 SH;<\/p>\n
The construction of new fa\u00e7ades around Hassanabad Square (\u0645\u06cc\u062f\u0627\u0646 \u062d\u0633\u0646\u200c\u0622\u0628\u0627\u062f) in 1307 SH;<\/p>\n
The beginning of an extensive program to widen streets and construct traffic circles at their intersections, starting in 1307 SH\/1928 CE;<\/p>\n
The construction of Cyrus (\u0633\u06cc\u0631\u0648\u0633), Khayyam (\u062e\u06cc\u0627\u0645), and Buzarjomhri (\u0628\u0648\u0630\u0631\u062c\u0645\u0647\u0631\u06cc) streets through the old, densely built-up areas within Tehran\u2019s First Enclosure (\u062d\u0635\u0627\u0631 \u0627\u0648\u0644 \u062a\u0647\u0631\u0627\u0646), beginning in 1307\u20131308 SH;<\/p>\n
The filling of the moat surrounding the city and the construction of broad, straight streets in its place; and<\/p>\n
The construction of Karaj Water Boulevard (\u0628\u0644\u0648\u0627\u0631 \u0622\u0628 \u06a9\u0631\u062c), later known as Elizabeth Boulevard (\u0628\u0644\u0648\u0627\u0631 \u0627\u0644\u06cc\u0632\u0627\u0628\u062a) and today as Keshavarz Boulevard (\u0628\u0644\u0648\u0627\u0631 \u06a9\u0634\u0627\u0648\u0631\u0632), in 1311 SH\/1932 CE.<\/p>\n
